Hi All,

This is a slightly different show for us as Newport City Council have asked us to put it on as part of several events they are sponsoring designed to promote the new upper tier of the Central Market.

Space dictates that there will only be 30 tables of dealers as opposed to the usual 50, and there will only be 4 or 5 guests. Dave Prowse and Catherine Munroe (Zuckuss) are the only 2 confirmed so far.

The UK Garrison and the R2D2 robot will also be there.

Entry prices will be £3 for adults, £2 for under 12s and under 9s will be free.

Doors will open at 11.00 and there won't be any facility for early birds.

Hi Great news, quick question, will cathrine only be signing if personalised, i know shes doin a signing with a dealer later this month but only signs if personalised.

I asked Catherine your question by e-mail but haven't had a response.

I do note on her site that she is advertising her appearance at our event though.

Thats great, this is the weekend after the london show hopefully a few of the guests will stick around the uk for a week and attend the newport show.

Hi, Jason,

I'm pretty sure she charges £15 for a signed photo and will sign which ever way is required.
Not sure how much she charges to sign items brought to her though.

Hi Jason - and everyone else,

No, there won't be any other guests added to the line-up.

We had never intended this to be a multi-guest event because of the space restrictions.

Most of our Star Wars guests have now been to Newport several times and are reluctant to return (at least at this point). Had someone new become available, we could have squeezed them in - but that just didn't happen.

Certainly, if this show is a success then when we arrange the next one we will increase the number of guests - but not by many because of the size of the venue.

We're hoping that this event will attract all those who can't make the journey on a Sunday, plus those who are in the city centre shopping. By reducing the number of guests, we've been able to keep the admission price down to just £3 for adults (less for kids) and again hope this will attract those who perhaps couldn't afford the usual entry prices.

We've realised that our events mainly attract the general public and that "fans" only make up less than 10% of those attending.

Consequently we have to cater to that audience, which means less obscure (but new) faces and more appearances by well known regulars - who may now be of little interest to "fans" who perhaps got their autograph at previous events.

Personally, I love the bigger multi-guests events and hope we'll be able to do more in the future - but we'll just have to see how things progress financially.
